WHAT IS THE WHITE CLOUD TELE-MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE?

White Cloud’s Tele-Mental Health Service is a novel, multi-disciplinary, telehealth service which provides easy, early access to professional treatment for Queenslanders living with or at risk of developing depression and/or anxiety.

It was initially developed to provide treatment and support in regional, rural and remote areas of Queensland that have limited access to mental health care services. It is based on the highly successfully and internationally recognised Tele-Cardiac Investigations program developed by White Cloud Foundation (WCF) Founder Professor Adam Scott.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

It provides holistic, individualised, clinical and practical care and support to treat a person’s depression and/or anxiety from multiple fronts.

The White Cloud Tele-Mental Health Service is operated by a Brisbane-based Integrated Practice Unit (IPU) which boasts a team of mental health clinicians including psychologists, counsellors, exercise physiologists, dieticians, mental health nurses and social workers. This team of specialists work together to develop individualised treatment plans that address a client’s symptoms, reduce risk factors, build resilience and arm them with strategies to better manage their mental and emotional health.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

A person interested in seeking help for their depression or anxiety, simply needs to call us on 07 3155 3456 (generally just the cost of a local call). They will speak to one of our IPU’s qualified client liaison team members who will assess their needs and schedule appointments with relevant clinicians. These appointments will then take place via video-conferencing or telephone – whatever the client is most comfortable with.
The frequency and types of sessions provided to each client will be decided on a needs-based assessment by the IPU.

WHO CAN USE THE SERVICE?

In its inital phase, the White Cloud Tele-Mental Health Service is primarily available to people living anywhere in Queensland. We do plan to open up to residents of other states in the near future.

A client can either self-refer (call 07 3155 3456 direct) and they do not requie a referral from a GP.

GPs, local hospitals, workplaces or other community organisations are also welcome to refer their own clients and patients to the service. To refer a patient to the service, simply click on the button below and complete the referral form. You must have the patient’s consent to refer them. Once we receive the referral form, we will contact them to set a suitable time for their first appointment with a clinician.

A White Cloud client does not require a mental health plan.
