Whether you are a serious cricketer or just like to have a bit of fun, this will be a great family-friendly day.

Date: Tuesday 26 January 2021

Time: First ball at 10am

Where: Northern Suburbs District Cricket Club, 128 – 150 Shaw Road, Wavell Heights, Brisbane

Each team will play a minimum of 2 games of 8 over cricket. These will be followed by Semi Finals and then the Final where the 2 best teams will battle it out for the White Cloud Foundation Cricket Challenge Shield.

Most importantly, a number of Backyard Cricket Rules will apply.
– If it nicks the bat, you have to run
– One hand, one bounce
– Sledging and ball tampering is encouraged

Get into the spirit

To make the day colorful and extra fun, we are hoping everyone will get into the Australian spirit. There will be prizes for:

BEST DRESSED TEAM: We encourage each team to have their own uniforms. It could just be your corporate polos or you could have a bit of fun and dress up in theme….maybe some stubbies and thongs or a whole team of Merv Hughes’.

There’ll also be some games and competitions between cricket matches, so get your arm ready for some thong throwing and a tug-o-war.

Special guests

There will be Queensland cricketing greats, former Wallabies and other sporting legends there on the day to help out on the field when needed.

Food & drink

You can self-cater on the day or buy your food and drinks from the Clubhouse. White Cloud Foundation will also be running a BBQ where you can buy steak burgers and sausage and we’ll also have beer for sale.

What to bring

You can also bring your own cricket equipment if you have it – bats, gloves and pads. If you don’t have your own, equipment will be available from the Cricket Club.

Where does the money from the event go?

All money raised through the White Cloud Foundation Cricket Challenge will be used to fund White Cloud Foundation’s practical support programs for people living with or at risk of developing depression. These programs include:

Meals for Mums – a service that delivers nutritious meals to the homes of mothers battling perinatal depression

FUNDAMENTALS – a service that supports men and women with or at risk of developing depression by providing them practical help for the underlying cause of their stress or worries. This can include budgeting help to manage finances, career assistance for those who have lost their job, social connection through Steaks with Mates, or just someone to mow the lawn when things are just too much.

Every $150 raised means we can support another mum with meals or someone through FUNDAMENTALS and make a world of difference to them and their families.
