Men’s Health and the Power of Exercise!

Currently on average, seven out of every nine suicides each day in Australia are men. This can be attributed to mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety which increase an individuals risk of self harm or suicide. The current statistics in Australia show that one in eight men will experience depression, and one in five will experience anxiety at some stage in their lives. These men are our brothers, fathers, sons, husbands, partners and mates and we all need to do our bit to look out for them. We can do this through education, increasing our awareness of men’s mental health issues and gaining greater knowledge of the tools and resources that can help these men. Read more….

Mental health has become one of the most talked-about health topics and the reasons are understandable. People perceive themselves becoming more stressed due to the increased pace of the many and varied activities that occupy their daily lives.

Some people might query the relationship between physical activities and mental health. However whatever lifestyle an individual chooses to adopt, it always has lasting effects on an individual’s mental state. There is now a greater understanding of the relationship of ailments that affect the body and those of the mental state. Whatever affects the body can affect the mind as well, and vice-versa.
